Keadran: Twilight Self

My father's born to darkness, my mother's born to light.
They met and soon the found their hearts to one another tied.
My father chose the way of light, rebelled against his role.
His love for us was strong, but then dark powers took his soul…

Light is black and shadow's bright -
am I darkness, am I light?
For white magic I will fight,
though it kills my darker side.

When Mother died, I had no kin, an orphan, all alone
into a world of strangers who would hate I was thrown.
So I set out upon the road that through the hills did wind,
some luck, some joy, some peace, some light, a goddess for to find.

Light is black and shadow's bright -
am I darkness, am I light?
For white magic I will fight,
though it kills my darker side.

I feel the darkness rise in me, my powers want to grow.
With all my will and strength and light I force them to stay low.
But when I'm treated violently or get into a rage,
my will will break, my grip will fail - my magic breaks its cage ...

Light is black and shadow's bright -
am I darkness, am I light?
For white magic I will fight,
though it kills my darker side.

I'll lose my mind, but still I must deny my twilight self.
There is no name for what I am - a light-and-darkness-elf.
O could the goddess heal my soul, allow me to be free -
pray is it her I wish to find, or do I look for me?

Light is black and shadow's bright -
am I darkness, am I light?
For white magic I will fight,
though it kills my darker side.
